Not to be confused with Little Lane in Moorthorpe, at the time of the 1854 Ordnance Survey map, what is today known as Heming’s Way did not exist, but was part of the much longer Little Lane. Where Heming’s Way today terminates, Little Lane continued on all the way to the railway lines, where it crossed over at the same point that the modern footbridge does today. The path of this Little Lane differs from the route of the modern day footpath that makes use of this crossing point over the railway.
